Welcome to the 30th Annual Thanksgiving Studio Tour

Thirty years ago, a small group of Gabriola artists and their champions set out to build something both simple and resonant: a way to encounter art in the spaces where it is conceived, shaped, and created.

That impulse—to connect making with place, and artists with community—continues to define the Tour. Now spanning more than 60 studios and welcoming more than 1,500 visitors, the Tour unfolds across the island as a network of working spaces and shared conversations—where five studios mark their 30th year, and 12 step forward for the first time, each part of an evolving, shared story.

What emerges is not a single narrative, but a collective one—rooted in material, process, and an ongoing dialogue between artists and those who come to experience the work.

Studios are open from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We invite you to move through the island at your own pace—enter studios, engage in conversation, witness work in progress, and become part of the exchange that gives the Tour its meaning. As you do, know that what you’re stepping into has been built, slowly and collectively, over thirty years—through shared effort, open doors, and the quiet courage it takes to keep making and to keep inviting others in.
